The hostel doors are open to all: to those travelling alone, to families and groups – to holidaymakers and business travellers alike. The room sizes vary from single rooms to the nowadays rare large dormitories. In many of the countryside hostels you can also choose a cottage. More than half of the HI Finland hostels are open all year round. In summer the capacity is supplemented by comfortable summer hostels, the spacious apartments of which are especially suitable for families.

The HI Finland hostels are part of the largest accommodation industry chain in the world – Hostelling International – with over 4 000 hostels in more than 80 countries. The HI hostels have 340 000 beds in all, with 35 million overnight stays a year. The HI hostels pay special attention to the reception of guests, security and hostel cleanliness. The hostel prices vary by location, standard, room size and services. The average hostel night costs less than 20 €/person. Instead of a room of your own, you can pay only for a bed in a hostel. There is generally an extra charge for breakfast and bedlinen. If you prefer, you can use your own bedlinen and make your breakfast in the hostel’s self-catering kitchen.

We allow a discount of 2,50 € off the low hostel accommodation prices to the bearers of the international hostel card. With the card, you can get many other benefits and discounts valuable during your journey. All the Finnish hostel card benefits are listed here.
