The Koli youth hostel is a former school building and its hilly landscape is renowned for its beauty.  Koli became well-known in the early 20th century by visiting artists seeking inspiration there (Eero Järnefelt, Juhani Aho, Jean Sibelius, Pekka Halonen and Venny Soldan).

Camp school offer for 2007:
– Accommodation with your own linen (or sleeping bag) 10,50 €/night, only one night 11 €
– Breakfast 4 €
– Soups á 4,60 €
– Dinner 5,10 €
– Snacks 3 €
– Linen 4,50 €

Sauna (wood-heated) 8,50 € / hour
Chimneyless sauna 80 €
The price for a week’s camp school includes two visits to sauna.

The history of Koli, tales and welcoming rituals by the Koli gnome are included in the price (if you stay longer than one night)
Lapp hut and firewood is included in the price.

Prices are  in force until end 2007, prices include VAT. 

Sample itineraries:

* Visit to Nunnanlahti steatite mine stove production, the trip there and back ca. 50 km.
* Räsävaara lookout tower, the trip there and back 10 km.
* Trip to Pirunkirkko. It is the sixth biggest erratic boulder cave in Finland, where witches met for their rituals. Even Juhani Aho, Venny Soldan and Eero Järnefelt have visited the place. There is a story about this… the trip there and back ca. 30 km.
* The Koli National Park has good trails, the trip there and back 20 km.
* Ukko-Koli ski slope, the trip there and back 20 km.
* Rintasen vaara ski slope, the trip there and back 10 km.
* Koli supermarket, the trip there and back 12 km.
* The nearby hills have breath-taking views over the lake Pielinen.
