A LIVELY FARM IN LAPLAND
The Visatupa hostel is located by a lake in a milk farm in the heart of Lapland. It is the oldest farm holiday resort in Lapland and has offered accommodation for 25 years. Hostelli sijaitsee aivan järven rannalla. A forest rich in berries and mushrooms reaches the hostel building.
To the north of the Arctic Circle, only 80 km from Rovaniemi, the milk farm can offer its visitors the peace of the countryside and closeness to nature. Connection by bus from all trains arriving in Rovaniemi.
If necessary, we can arrange transport from Rovaniemi or Sodankylä. Customers can be called for at the Raudanjoki stop. For more information, see www.visatupa.fi.
Accommodation: Losotupa (****) 7 rooms for 3-4 persons, big lounge, kitchen and sanitary facilities. Visatupa (***) two-storied, 4 rooms (for 2, 3, 4 and 5 persons), downstairs showers, toilets, kitchen, upstairs toilet.
In addition, 4 ***** apartments.
Farm animals: Cows, dog, cat
Activities: Fishing (summer/winter), skiing, snow mobile riding, snowshoeing, winter swimming, rowing, berry-picking (July and August), mushroom picking, 200 hectares hunting grounds (no guided hunting), farm work – some of the activities are liable to charge.

Excursions: In Sodankylä: Old church, Alariesto art gallery (56 km), Luosto (skiing, downhill skiing, spa ametistikaivos) 44 km, Pyhä-Luosto National Park, breath-taking scenery and well-marked trails, Arctic Circle: Santa Park, Santa’s workshop village (75 km), Rovaniemi: Arktikum (83 km).
Camp schools: We can offer help in planning – we can tell the students about agriculture and forestry, life in north of the Arctic Circle and reindeer management. |
