AN UNCOMPLICATED WAY OF LIVING
Cosy rooms and cottages in the lap of fresh and green nature. The varied scenery offers interesting opportunities for activities. Barbeque and games grounds available. Coffee shop, also available for parties. Uncomplicated atmosphere and a jovial, leisurely feeling. The members of the household have time to talk in Finnish, English, German and Swedish.
Accommodation: 10 rooms for 2,3 or 4 persons, 3 rooms (with outdoor facilities) for 4 persons, a house for 6-8 persons by the lake Saimaa with all facilities. Outbuildings, attic rooms. Showers in the main building. Two lakeside saunas, three boats, canoe, bicycle. Use of these included in the price. Facilities shared between 2-3 rooms. You can find peace and quiet.
Activities: Hiking, rock climbing, cycling, swimming, rowing (church boats hired out), berry-picking (lots of lingonberries and blueberries), mushroom picking, fishing, moose hunting, cross-country skiing, kick-sledding. Our neighbours hire out snow mobiles. Campfires and games by the beach or on the sports ground.
Excursions: Sarsuinmäki batteries, Salpalinja artillery. Rock-paintings, Ollin lokso (a large cleft in rock), stone church (a large erratic boulder in the middle of plain), a 1920’s farm courtyard and museum, Sulkava church, Vilkaharju, Linnavuori, Rauhanniemi museum area and chimneyless sauna, church-boat rowing trip to Sulkava village. Oravanreitti: a paddling trip though rapids and over lakes, orchid gardens and park. Savonlinna 60 km.
