Hostel Ahopää is part of Tunturikeskus Kiilopää’s accommodation capacity. Kiilopää is situated between the fjelds Ahopää- ja Kiilopää, on the edge of the Urho Kekkonen National Park and next to a 190 km long network of skiing tracks and hiking trails. The Kiilopää area is well suited for those interested in outdoor recreation and for nature lovers looking for peace and quiet all year round: our activities include birding, trekking, Nordic walking, long hiking trips in summer and winter (departure and return point), cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, winter swimming. You can arrange camp schools, confirmation classes, and courses etc. at Kiilopää A real fjeld experience – welcome!

We leave for the guided day trips at 9.30 a.m. from Sunday to Friday and return around 3 p.m. Our guide takes you safely to the nearby fjelds, also off the marked routes: the guides can tell you about the nature and history of the area. In winter, the guided trips take you cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, in autumn to walking and Nordic walking trips. Tunturikeskus Kiilopää has equipment rental: skiis, sticks, ski boots, snowshoes, sleds for children, Nordic walker-poles, etc. During the spring season we have ski waxing service.
There is a smoke sauna at Kiilopää. You can swim in a mountain brook, and in winter you can go winter swimming. You can use the smoke sauna during the weekly public opening hours. For the hostel guests, the smoke sauna charge is 8€/person. Swimming suit rental.
